O Meu Chão / My Ground

I was born 45 years ago in this house, where my parents still live. I spent countless hours playing on this kitchen floor. On it, I saw unique landscapes, mazy roads and blocks of cities. In the holes of this old ground I explored the craters of distant planets, and train made of marbles slid carefully on the rails of his joints for not derail. I lived with this ground day and night, for 28 years. I never looked it with real attention until this day, when I observed it through my cell phone lens. For a brief moment, I saw it for the first time, such as when i was a child ... because we are children while we have the ability to see, repeatedly, things that surround us and which we are familiar, for the first time.

When I want to discover the errors of an illustration or a drawing in which I am working, I observe it through a mirror. In this inverted world, our addicted brain is tricked and everything stands out with a freshness and sweeping intensity.

With the world around us, maybe we can do the same ... and maybe for a few brief moments, we may be children again.
